Brittany DeRafelo, director of Customer Solutions at computer vision AI company Voxel, will lead a panel session at the Safety 2026 Conference & Expo.

The show is being hosted by The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) June 15-17 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

The session, "Working Smarter, Not Harder: Embracing AI Without Forcing Adoption," will feature safety leaders who will share how they adopted AI in industrial settings and challenges they faced.

Panelists to discuss what worked, what didn’t, and how to build trust

The session (#5061) is scheduled for Monday, June 15, from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. PDT. DeRafelo and the following panelists will discuss how organizations are integrating AI-powered safety tools while avoiding pitfalls:

  • Lisa Battino, United States Cold Storage VP of Regulatory Compliance and Safety
  • Terri Rybacki, Macy's director of Risk and Safety
  • Shane Quinn, MS International - North America safety director

"The biggest barrier to AI in safety isn't the technology, it's trust. When teams feel like something is being done to them rather than for them, adoption stalls. This conversation is about changing that dynamic, and giving safety leaders the tools to introduce AI in a way that actually sticks,” DeRafelo said.
