Chris Salemink, Lead EHS Trainer and Consultant at the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP), will host an educational session on electrical safety at Safety Connect 2026.
The online continuing education event is being hosted by Safeopedia, Inc. Oct. 20-22. All sessions will be available for 365 days on demand for registrants.
Registration is $97 for all three days and provides at least two CEUs.
The 90 minute session, “Decoding Compliance: How OSHA and NFPA 70E Work Together to Save Lives,” will be held Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. EDT.
Salemink will cover how OSHA references and enforces NFPA 70E, what arc flash and shock risk assessments require, and how to build a Qualified Person training program.
Navigating electrical safety can feel like deciphering two different languages. While OSHA provides the legal framework and enforcement mandates (the what), NFPA 70E provides the tactical, hands-on standard for safe work practices (the how). Failing to align the two doesn’t just risk costly citations - it puts lives at risk.
In this interactive virtual training session, Salemink will demystify the critical link between OSHA subparts and NFPA 70E requirements. Attendees will learn how to translate rigid federal regulations into an electrical safety program (ESP) that keeps their teams safe and their organizations compliant.
Whether you are a safety manager, engineer, or supervisor, NFPA said attendees will leave with a clear roadmap to bridge the gap between legal theory and field reality.
Key Learnings:
To ensure the session provides long-term value beyond the presentation slides, attendees will gain access to actionable tools and resources.
Attendees will leave with NASP’s OSHA-to-NFPA 70E Alignment Matrix - a quick-reference cheat sheet mapping major OSHA electrical standards (like 29 CFR §1910.303 and 331-335) directly to their corresponding NFPA 70E chapters - and a PDF of the full presentation slide deck.
