By Work Safety 24/7 Staff

The Class II Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet (BSC) from USA Lab provides personnel, product, and environmental protection for handling infectious or potentially infectious materials.

All exhaust air is HEPA-filtered prior to release, maintaining a safe workspace that meets NSF/ANSI 49 standards.

Unlike clean benches that blow unfiltered air toward the user, and unlike chemical fume hoods that lack product protection, USA Lab’s NSF-Certified Class II Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet combines inward airflow with HEPA-filtered laminar downflow for comprehensive protection.

A motorized, laminated safety glass window, dual HEPA filters with life indicators, microprocessor control, and a stainless-steel work zone can simplify safe operation and cleaning.

Typical workflow

  1. Close sash
  2. Run UV for 30 minutes to disinfect
  3. Set sash to the 10-inch safety height and allow 10 minutes of stabilization
  4. Perform work
  5. Close sash and run UV for 30 minutes for post-use decontamination

Ductwork not included.
