The Retract-a-Clamp series of coiled static grounding and bonding cable assemblies from Stewart R. Browne Manufacturing Company provide reliability and operational stability for grounding and bonding while transferring flammable materials.

Retract-A-Clamp is an easy-to-use system suitable for any hazardous material transfer operations requiring a ground or a bond between vessels, tanks, drums, loading cars, piping, and/or valves.

Retract-a-Clamp is National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) static electricity standard 77 compliant and made in the United States.

Durable orange coating for visibility

Each Retract-A-Clamp cable is coated with orange nylon that resists and inhibits corrosion, abrasion, chemicals, wear, and prevents fray to increase cable longevity.

The color radiates a bright visual capture to alert the operator and others nearby of its presence.

Coiled design reduces kinks and knots, prevents tripping hazards

The company’s coiled design neatly expands when needed and automatically retracts to its original shape once tension is released.

This feature assists the operator by eliminating tangling, kinking and knotting, allowing for easy handling and compact storage once the task is completed.

The coiled design also keeps the cable away from general traffic flow to reduce trip hazards, and acts as alert in the event of a clamp accidentally disconnecting from its contact point.

Range of length and connector options

Stocked cable lengths range from 5 feet to 40 feet. Stewart R. Browne offers various sizes, designs, and metallurgies for connectors, including:

  • Cast aluminum REB 2960 hand clamps
  • Bronze G40PC hand clamps
  • 3/4 inch C-clamps
  • 1/2 inch pipe clamps
  • 1/4 or 5/16 inch terminal lug fittings

All REB and GAT clamps feature opposing stainless steel points that exhibit a strong biting force that punctures through paint to ensure a positive metal-to-metal contact.

Non-standard designs are quoted upon request.

The Retract-a-Clamp is available from Stewart R. Browne distributors, including New Pig, Grainger, PK Safety, BayTec Containers, FleetPride, Denios.
