Senate confirms safety agency leaders

Secretaries, review board members confirmed for OSHA, MSHA

The U.S. Senate recently confirmed over 100 nominees for administrative positions, including new leaders for OSHA and the MSHA.

Members for those agencies’ respective review commissions, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC) and Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission (FMSHRC), were also confirmed.

Confirmations to safety positions include:

Within the Department of Labor

  • David Keeling - Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA
  • Jonathan Snare - Member of the OSHRC
  • Wayne Palmer - Assistant Secretary of Labor for MSHA
  • Marco Rajkovich, Jr. - Reappointed a Member of the FMSHRC
  • Lanny Erdos - Director of the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement
  • Julie Hocker - Assistant Secretary of Labor
  • David Brian Castillo - DOL Chief Financial Officer
  • Andrew Rogers - DOL Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division
  • Jonathan Berry - DOL Solicitor

  • Gregory Zerzan - Department of Transportation (DOT) General Counsel
