The National Safety Council (NSC) announced the launch of NSC SafetyAtlas, a platform that integrates safety training, credentials, resources and services from NSC, participating NSC Chapters and nonprofit and industry partners in a singular online destination.

NSC said that in the current safety landscape, organizations often must navigate between multiple providers, catalogs and systems to find, assign and track safety training.

SafetyAtlas simplifies safety user experience

Grounded in NSC research and best practices, the organization said that SafetyAtlas provides a simplified user experience by combining a curated marketplace and learning management system into one cross-functional platform where leaders, managers and frontline workers can procure and manage learning, maintain credentials and run comprehensive reports.

“With SafetyAtlas, the National Safety Council is creating something the safety profession has long needed: a single connected destination for trusted safety resources and guidance,” said Nick Smith, president, NSC. “By bringing together NSC expertise and leading nonprofit and industry partners, SafetyAtlas will support our members, employers and workers in finding the solutions they need to live out our shared mission of saving lives, from the workplace to anyplace.”

With training as a starting point, NSC said that SafetyAtlas enables employers, safety professionals, human resources teams, and learning and development professionals to:

  • Browse and purchase training from multiple providers
  • Assign learning to individuals or groups
  • Track progress, completion and certificates
  • Conveniently maintain training and credential records
  • Run reports through integrated learning management capabilities available at no additional platform cost

NSC said that the platform includes industry-aligned learning pathways for higher-risk sectors, geo-located course search and a Safety Wallet, where users can store and share safety credentials and training history. In addition to automatically recording courses completed through SafetyAtlas, the Council said that users will soon be able to upload training and credentials from other platforms and organizations.

“For more than a century the National Safety Council has brought together the people, organizations and expertise that advance safety,” said Lorraine Martin, CEO, NSC. “SafetyAtlas builds on that legacy by connecting trusted providers, services and proven learning experiences into one integrated ecosystem. Today’s announcement marks the start of a new era for NSC, one in which we create a more accessible, connected and scalable safety learning experience for employers and workers, helping them access resources they need to prevent injuries and save lives.”
