Cutting tool provider OLFA U.S.A. Inc. recently showcased its safety blades - including its SK-16 quick-change concealed blade safety knife - at the 2025 Safety Congress & Exposition.

The show was hosted by The National Safety Council (NSC) Sept. 15-17 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

OLFA said it provides cutting tools that meet everyday needs while providing an enhanced level of protection, offering a range of safety knives ideal for multiple applications.

Quick-change system with ergonomic curved handle

The SK-16 features:

  • Quick-change replaceable blade head
  • Limited blade exposure prevents cuts and lacerations
  • 0.39 inch cutting depth
  • Fiberglass reinforced handle provides durability
  • Premium stainless-steel blade
  • Flow-thru cutting channel minimizes resistance
  • Metal tip for improved tape splitting

The OLFA SK-16 is designed for lasting comfort. The durable fiberglass-reinforced handle can withstand drops and tough work environments. The curved ergonomic handle helps reduce wrist fatigue for prolonged use. A metal tape splitter completes the handle, which can be used to reduce blade wear and prolong blade life.

The SK-16’s blade is safely concealed within an open cutting channel for easy use. The blade guard tips guide cuts while protecting goods under the cutting surface. The wider channel opening minimizes resistance and allows for a large range of cutting materials, such as:

  • Up to 2-ply corrugate
  • Bagged goods
  • Cable ties
  • Films
  • Fiberboard/flooring protection
  • Plastic strapping bands
  • Stretch film
  • Carpet
  • Rubber sheeting
  • Tape

This cutter comes preloaded with a premium stainless-steel replaceable blade head. With its quick-change blade release system, OLFA said blade changes are simple and efficient. Pull back on the red button to release and remove the used blade. Insert the new blade and click it into place. OLFA said its replaceable blade head reduces waste compared to disposable models.
