Radio communications systems provider Hytera U.S. Inc recently announced it will showcase its radios at the 2025 Safety Congress & Exposition in booth 2536.

The show is being hosted by The National Safety Council (NSC) Sept. 15-17 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

Hytera provides radio communications technologies for safety professionals. The company will be showcasing its H-series digital mobile radios (DMRs) and Horizon push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) radio systems.

Hytera also provides trunking systems and bridging systems for adding PoC mobile radios to any existing DMR or analog radio systems, along with dispatching applications with GPS location tracking.

H-Series offer lone worker, man down coverage

The Hytera H-Series is a DMR product family that the company said is built from the ground up on an entirely new technology platform, offering functionality, user experience, and ruggedness. It launched in the U.S. in December 2021.

With all the patented technologies and the testing it has undergone, Hytera said its H-series is positioned to deliver a higher level of excellence in the market.

The H-Series radios empower employees in security, education, customer service, and severe working environments with efficient and reliable communications.

Features include:

  • Enhanced worker safety - The H-series is designed for worker safety with an emergency button, emergency calling, and priority interrupt. The Lone Worker feature prompts the user to press a key or speak to indicate they are safe. The Man Down feature allows the radio to automatically enter emergency mode when the radio is inclined at a pre-set angle or remains motionless.
  • Higher level of ruggedness - The HP6 and HP7 handheld radios are IP68 and MIL-STD- 810 G compliant. They are dustproof, submersible to a depth of 6.5 feet (2 meters) for four hours, and can withstand multiple drop shock tests at 6.5 feet. H-series handheld radios also feature an anti-magnetic speaker that does not attract magnetic metal dust and shavings.
  • Louder and clearer audio - Large speakers provide up to 93 decibels of loudness, and AI-powered voice enhancement with deep learning ability can accurately extract voice from noise in real time.
  • Extended coverage - The H-series extends radio range through increased transmission power, receiving sensitivity, improved antenna gain, and reduced attenuation. The company said these features produce a 25% increase in coverage distance and signal penetration through buildings to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Lighter and thinner - H-series handheld radios have an optimized mechanical design, advanced materials, and lightweight lithium polymer batteries. HP7 radios weigh less than 11 ounces, and HP6 radios weigh less than 10 ounces.
  • Longer battery life - The latest in lithium polymer technology is used to power the H-series handheld radios. The battery is light and small, achieving a shift life of up to 24 hours on high transmit power with a duty cycle of 5/5/90.
  • Multi-system operation - H-series radios can be deployed on Analog and Digital Conventional, MPT and XPT Trunking, DMR Tier II Trunking, IP Multi-Site Connect, and DMR Simulcast Systems. HP702, HP782, and HM782 radios can be deployed on DMR Tier III systems.
  • GPS and other features - H-series radios support optional GPS for dispatching applications, optional advanced encryption, and Bluetooth for wireless accessories

Intrinsically safe models for flammable environments

The base models - HP702 and HP782 - provide loud and clear audio, 24-hour battery life, and ruggedness for reliability across multiple environments and industries. The HP702 includes a one-line display screen, while the HP782 is equipped with a 2.4” screen and full keypad.

The HP782-IS and HP702-IS are intrinsically safe models for industrial, energy production, and mining environments. They are designed for use in areas where flammable dust and vapors are present, and feature a battery life greater than 24 hours.

The HP602 and HP682 are Hytera’s smaller and more cost-effective H-Series handheld radios. The HP6 radios provide the same value as the HP7 series, with loud and clear audio, 20 hour battery life, and rugged build quality. The HP682 is equipped with a slightly smaller 1.8” screen and full keypad.

Hytera also offers three mobile radios for in-vehicle and fleet communications with raised ergonomic keys and buttons, as well as DMR Tier II repeaters.

The HR1062 DMR repeater supports interconnects to a variety of systems, AC and DC auto-switching power, two simultaneous TDMA voice channels, high performance cooling, and all in a compact 1U form factor.

The HR652 Compact DMR repeater is designed for use in tight spaces and provides supplemental coverage in areas like multi-story buildings, and features an optional battery for backup power and portable applications.
