Mezzanine Safeti-Gates: Roly Safety Gate, Versatile System for Fall Protection

The Roly® mezzanine safety gate was invented 43 years ago, and it’s still the design that companies turn to for fall protection year after year. It’s our most versatile safety gate model. Since it’s invention, the dual-gate safety system has gotten many updates, and many add-ons can be purchased for new or existing safety gates.

Does a lift truck load material into your elevated pallet drop areas? There is a risk that it will push the material too far, damaging equipment or material. Roly safety gates can include a pallet position indicator light system provides notification to the forklift truck drivers; when the light is green, the ledge-side gate is open and the pallet drop area is ready to be loaded. As the forklift truck driver loads pallets into place, the light turns red when the pallet has been positioned correctly, signaling not to push the pallet back further. The ledge gate closes, creating a fall protection barrier for the employees working with the pallet. The light stays red until the pallet drop area has been unloaded.

By adding netting to the ledge gate, products in the pallet drop area are kept from falling and striking employees or equipment below. The netting compacts into the system when the ledge gate opens, clearing the way for pallets. Product containment netting keeps products two inches or larger secure, and keeps hands out of the loading zone.

While manual operation is standard for the Roly safety gate, commercial motors can be added for power, no-touch operation. Motors are available in standard, waterproof and explosion proof models, depending on the environment in your facility. Photo eyes and sensors to detect objects and people, radio frequency systems for remote operation and WMS integration can be added with any commercial motor. Power options are available for any size Roly safety gate.

Roly pallet drop safety gates come in standard single-wide and double-wide sizes. Additionally, the gates can be manufactured in stainless steel or powder-coated steel and finished in any color. Custom engineering can be obtained for standard designs with uncommon pallet drop area sizes.
