Massachusetts-based safety gate provider Mezzanine Safeti-Gates today announced its newly-designed WorkZone safety gate.

The WorkZone safety gate separates employees from lift trucks and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) moving around the ground level in busy material handling and warehousing facilities.

Prevent warehouse vehicle strike injuries

In most material handling facilities, machinery like conveyors can obstruct employee sight lines on the ground level. Often employees unload material from conveyors and stack it on pallets in close proximity to lift trucks, AMRs, and AGVs that pick up completed pallets and move them to storage or delivery areas.

The new WorkZone safety gate prevents people from walking into the vehicle path and getting injured by using dual counterbalanced and interconnected gates to ensure one gate is always in place.

“With the rise of unmanned vehicles in material handling facilities, employees face risks at the ground level,” said Aaron Conway, Mezzanine Safeti-Gates, Inc president. “While our safety gates were originally designed for fall protection, we have seen more need for our safety systems on the ground level to separate stationary work zones from traffic flow. And the dual-gate systems work really well on the ground level, always ensuring a barrier is in place to protect employees. Our safety gates prevent employees from vehicle strikes on the ground level, and falls on elevated levels.”

Configuration, material, design, & operator assist options

The WorkZone safety gate can be configured in Roly, Open Top, Pivot or Tri-Side designs, and come in standard single-wide and double-wide sizes.

All WorkZone safety gates can be manufactured in stainless steel or powder-coated steel and finished in any color.

Custom engineering can be obtained for uncommon pallet drop area sizes and or unique applications.

Used in thousands of locations throughout the world, safety gate systems offered by Mezzanine Safeti-Gates can be equipped with additional forklift truck ‘operator-assist’ technologies including power, remote operation and radio frequency sensors, product containment netting or steel mesh panels, and pallet position indicators.
