Mezzanine Safeti-Gates: Product Containment Safety Gate Design

As the demand for warehouse and material handling space remains high, material handling and warehouses are continually adding multi-level rack and other product storage systems into facilities. If the storage systems are not contained, products are at risk for falling from upper levels, leaving employees, robots and other equipment at risk for injury or damage. The Product Containment netting option for pallet drop safety gates helps facility managers solve a number of problems in one system.

We use a high strength, high visibility netting system on the ledge side gate to contain material two inches or larger within the pallet drop safety gate system. When the pallet drop area is being loaded, the ledge gate is open and the netting compacts into the system, clearing the way for pallets to be moved into place and provides a barrier for employee fall protection. After loading is finished and the pallet area is ready for picking, the ledge gate closes and the netting extends from the deck to the top frame of the gate, providing full length coverage to prevent products from falling, decreasing the risk of damage while being picked or moved from the area. The Product Containment design can be ordered with any new safety gate design order or retrofit existing safety gates. Product containment netting can also be applied to the rear side gate as well as the sides of the safety gate.
