The Safe Lifting Tips Sign from Sigo Signs reminds workers of safe lifting practices to avoid back strain injuries.

The sign reads:

Safe Lifting Tips

Bend Your Knees

Bend your knees, and not your waist. This helps keep your center of balance and lets your leg muscles do the lifting.

"Hug The Load"

Try to hold the object you're lifting as close to your body as possible as you gradually straighten into a standing position.

Avoid Twisting

Twisting can overload your spine and lead to serious injury. Make sure your feet, knees, and torso are pointed in the same direction when you are lifting.

For optimal viewing under favorable conditions, the ANSI Z535-2011 standard recommends one inch of text height for every 25 feet of viewing distance. The sign is offered in five sizes from 7x10 to 24x30 inches for varying viewing distances.

  • 0.055 inch polyethylene HDPS Plastic - Highly resistant to impacts, abrasions, chemicals, moisture, and UV rays. Ideal for outdoor and industrial workplaces.
  • 4 millimeter peel-and-stick vinyl label - Lifespan is 4+ years, with an extended lifespan in favorable environments. Water, chemical, and UV resistant. Ideal for outdoor use without fading or peeling. Easy self-adhesive application on various surfaces. Flexible to fit curved or uneven surfaces.

Aluminum signs can be upgraded with reflectivity options:

  • 3M Engineer Grade Reflective Aluminum
    • Average Lifespan: Up to 10 years
    • Engineering Grade Prismatic (EGP) can be viewed from a distance of about 500 feet (depending on text size). Its primary function is for non-critical street and road signs such as parking signs or way-finding signs.
  • 3M Diamond Grade Reflective Aluminum
    • Average Lifespan: Up to 12 years
    • Diamond Grade Prismatic (DG3) can be viewed from a distance of between 1,300 and 1,600 feet (depending on text size) and offers superior reflectivity at short and long distances. It is the best option for public roads and dangerous intersections.
  • 3M High Intensity Prismatic Aluminum
    • Average Lifespan: Up to 10 years
    • High Intensity Prismatic (HIP) can be viewed from a distance of about 1000 feet away (depending on text size). It is the most common choice for reflective traffic and road signs.

Laminate reflective aluminum signs for best results.
