During a Monday press conference at Modex, the Protective Guarding Manufacturers Association (ProGMA), an industry group of MHI (Booth 4071), revealed its recent publishing of an American National Standard.

The standard, designated as ANSI MH31.1-2019, will address the performance and testing of steel mesh containment panels, particularly those that are used in pallet rack and vertical storage system applications.

Through this standardized methodology, users will now be able to evaluate their steel mesh containment panels’ durability and strength. And, in turn, they’ll enhance the protection and security of their pallet racks, shelving and other high-density storage handling equipment.

“ANSI MH31.1-2019 is a great tool to educate users about the proper use and design of steel mesh containment panels in material handling applications,” said ProGMA chair Aaron Conway. “This standard will make applications, using steel mesh panels, safer for employees.”

Modex 2020 is scheduled to be held March 9-12 at Georgia’s World Congress Center in Atlanta. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the materials handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete coverage of the show.
