The Traverse safety helmet from PIP Global Safety won second place in the 2025 New Product Showcase Awards at the 2025 Safety Congress & Exposition.

The show was hosted by The National Safety Council (NSC) Sept. 15-17 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

PIP entered six products into this year’s showcase, spanning categories from hand, head, and eye protection to arc-resistant and flame-resistant workwear, fall protection, and electrical safety.

The company stated taking home second place is a meaningful milestone for its team and partners at Quin and Mips, thanking everyone who took the time to vote and make its award achievement possible. PIP said this recognition reflects its shared commitment to delivering next-generation PPE that empowers workers to be safer, stronger, and more confident on the job.

ANSI-certified helmet designed for industrial work

The ANSI Type II certified Traverse industrial climbing helmet offers impact protection while working at heights or in confined spaces.

A lightweight ABS shell and an integrated EPS inner shell foam impact liner work in conjunction with the adjustable 4-point HDPE inner suspension to provide protection from top of head and lateral impact hazards, absorbing the forces of front, side, or rear impacts. Other design features include:

  • 4-point cross-over chin strap with quick release buckle is adjustable for a safe & secure fit
  • Rugged non-slip adjustable SURE-LOCK wheel ratchet ensures proper suspension performance and fit for all head sizes
  • Inner suspension includes comfortable padding for above the brow line
  • Meets clauses 4.2 of EN12492
  • Compatible with the full line of Traverse accessories

The non-vented version meets ANSI Z89.1-2014 Type II, Class E standards. The vented version meets ANSI Z89.1-2014 Type II, Class C standards.

Smart technologies improve protection and response

The Traverse safety helmet is equipped with Quin’s embedded active sensors, an NFC tag, and Mips’ multi-directional impact protection technology.

Mips’ brain protection system for industrial safety helmets is a low-friction layer that allows the head to move inside the helmet by about 0.4 to 0.6 inches relative motion in all directions, which can redirect the harmful rotational motion otherwise transferred to the head from angled impacts.

Embedded technologies allow Traverse to:

  • Detect workplace-specific incidents, including falls, slips, impacts, and temperature changes
  • Provide real-time alerts to emergency contacts and first responders
  • Enable secure medical ID access for critical on-site safety response
  • Add advanced head protection with Mips, designed to reduce rotational motion during angled impacts

Together, these features create a helmet that not only protects, but also communicates, which PIP said helps safety managers and workers respond faster and smarter when it matters most.
