The iEvac E500 industrial escape hood from Elmridge Protection Products won first place in the 2025 New Product Showcase Awards at the 2025 Safety Congress & Exposition.

The show was hosted by The National Safety Council (NSC) Sept. 15-17 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

The iEvac E500 Industrial Escape Hood is engineered for rapid and reliable escape from industrial environments contaminated with toxic gases, vapors, and particulates. Elmridge said it offers immediate respiratory and eye protection when every second counts. It protects against:

  • Chlorine
  • Chlorine Dioxide
  • Hydrogen Sulfide
  • Hydrogen Fluoride
  • Hydrogen Chloride
  • Organic Vapors
  • Sulfur Dioxide
  • Formaldehyde
  • Hydrogen Cyanide
  • Particulates (P100 Level)

The E500 is NIOSH 42 CFR §84 TC-84A-9746 and TC-84A-9843 certified.

Flexible material, universal filter placement

The chemical respirator mask is constructed from a proprietary soft, flexible, transparent material that helps ensure both comfort and a wide field of vision. Its 9.5×4.5 inch, anti-fog coated visor delivers a distortion-free, panoramic view for enhanced visibility, which Elmridge said is crucial for safe navigation during emergency scenarios.

The reusable E500 supports a single replaceable filter mountable on either side using a universal connection for user comfort. This flexibility helps improve balance and visibility for the wearer.

Additional features include:

  • Replaceable B1309 filter with universal connection
  • Comfortable universal-fit nose cup
  • Exhalation valve with high-visibility cover
  • D-Ring for easy wall or belt mounting when used with optional carry case
  • Easily cleaned and decontaminated
  • Can be used for training
  • Indefinite shelf life

No fit testing, maintenance, or medical evaluation are required, which Elmridge said makes it a convenient, cost-effective, and ready-to-use product. Its universal fit accommodates most users, including those wearing eyeglasses, and the external head harness ensures a quick, secure seal.

The iEvac E500 is designed for the following high-risk settings:

Elmridge also offers a 1,000 denier padded nylon carry case for the E500, which is belt or wall mountable with a secure zipper opening for rapid access.
