A letter from the editor

Hello folks, I’m Don.

Welcome to Work Safety 24/7! It’s no accident that we’re officially launching on Labor Day.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Labor Day traces its origins to the late nineteenth century, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being.

The American workforce has contributed to our country’s economic progress and forged its world-class safety culture for several centuries. American workers are essential and irreplaceable, which is why maintaining safe workplace conditions should be every organization’s top priority.

While summer might be over, today marks the beginning of a new era for occupational safety.
