SensorZone Proximity Warning Core

Three alerts across cab, wearable, area, & data logging for analytics

By Work Safety 24/7 Staff

Proximity Warning Core is the foundational system in the SensorZone product range.

It uses RFID-based personnel tags and vehicle-mounted antennas to create a continuous, 360-degree detection zone around heavy machinery.

When a worker wearing a tag enters this detection zone, the system triggers simultaneous alerts to the vehicle operator, the at-risk worker, and the surrounding area.

Designed for industrial environments where reliability, simplicity, and low maintenance are critical, Proximity Warning Core is trusted on sites around the world and has protected workers for over 140 million working hours.

Hardware only forms half of the story - central to the system is the site safety data that it produces, which enables true long-term behavior change and preventative action to be taken before an incident occurs.

How Proximity Warning Core Works

  1. Tag Assignment: Every worker gets a unique RFID tag that clips onto a hard hat or vest. Tags last 3+ years with no charging required - just clip on and go.
  2. Vehicle-Mounted Detection: Antennas are magnetically mounted to each vehicle to create detection zones. The zone is configurable from three to 30 feet for each vehicle.
  3. Triple Alert Activation: When a tag enters the detection zone, three alerts activate simultaneously: an in-cab alarm for the driver, a vibrating tag for the pedestrian worker, and an external beacon sounds for everyone nearby.
  4. Data Logging: Every detection event is logged with timestamp, vehicle ID, and tag ID. The system data syncs in real time to the SensorZone Insights Platform, enabling unparalleled site safety insights and analytics.
