SICK, Inc. has created the first-ever outdoor safety laser scanner on the market.

Using SICK’s patented outdoor-safe HDDM technology, the outdoorScan3 provides manufacturers flexibility to take AGVs indoors and outdoors, even in harsh weather conditions like sun, snow, rain, or fog.

In addition, the safety laser scanner has a vibration-resistant and shockproof mounting system to provide reliability needed to bring AGVs outdoors.

SICK’s outdoorScan3 is a safety laser scanner to be used on outdoor AGV so you can safely transport goods between multiple locations on a production site and operate at a higher throughput.

The outdoorScan3 is certified in accordance with ISO 13849 and IEC/TS 62998 for indoor and outdoor use.

It uses SICK’s patented outdoor-safe HDDM technology to implement high-precision measurement data for reliable use, even under challenging weather conditions. This technology means the laser scanner can work without errors when exposed to sunlight with an illumination intensity of up to 40,000 lux.

Product Features:

  1. Certified in accordance with ISO 13849 and EC/TS 62998 for indoor and outdoor use
  2. SICK’s patented outdoor-safeHDDM technology for high-precision measurement data even under challenging weather conditions
  3. Individual field settings can be set for up to 128 protective fields, with up to eight simultaneous protective fields.
