OSHA hosting webinar to help employers join safety stand-downs

Free guidance on how to pause and promote safe workplace practices

By Work Safety 24/7 Staff
April 7, 2026

OSHA is hosting a free webinar April 8 from noon to 1 p.m. EDT to help employers of all industries participate in a 2026 Safety Stand-Down.

The webinar will offer support to employers planning events as part of the 20th annual Georgia Struck-by Alliance’s Safety Stand-Down, which is celebrated annually during National Work Zone Awareness Week.

In observance of the annual stand-down, employers pause work to focus on the prevention of serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs) through training, education, and demonstration of safe workplace practices.

Resources and tools from OSHA, Wage & Hour Division

During the webinar, OSHA staff will offer attendees free resources for compliance assistance, share information about consultation services, and give details about its new Safety Champions Program.

OSHA staff will also provide employers with information on where to get free resources for safety stand-down events, offer practical ideas to help them host safety stand-downs, and show how they can register their events for a workplace safety certificate.

Representatives from the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division will also attend the webinar to provide information about tools available for employers to understand the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), introduce the division’s compliance assistance toolkits, and discuss the recently-expanded PAID program meant to help employers resolve potential violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act and FMLA.
