Steel Guard Safety Corp’s History dates back to 1913 when a set of entrepreneurs started a Tent and Awning company in the booming steel and mining city of Terre Haute Indiana. The company started sewing not just tents and awnings but moved into the garment industry sewing items such as aprons, and clothes. The Boom Town eventually turned to bust and the company changed its business focus to industrial fabric products in the 1970’s. From then on the company focused on the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and general manufacturing sectors producing, chutes, filters, covers, and custom industrial fabric products.
