Robotic automation systems provider Scott Technology introduced NexBot, a next-generation automated guided vehicle (AGV) designed to make automation more accessible, cost-effective, and easier to deploy at ProMat 2025. The company said NexBot introduces a modular approach to AGV architecture that enables faster automation deployment without lengthy lead times or high costs.
The trade show was held March 17-20 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Ill.
Designed for warehousing, manufacturing, logistics and e-commerce, the company said NexBot is built for versatility and high performance.
Its modular architecture allows businesses to configure key features - including Counterbalance Fork, Outrigger/Straddle Fork, Under-rigger Lift Deck, Conveyor Deck and Tugger modules - to suit their specific material handling needs. Whether navigating narrow aisles, high-lift environments, or specialized transport tasks, NexBot integrates with automation and enterprise systems - including Scott’s proprietary Maestro+ platform - to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.
Scott Technology said it has already secured NexBot’s first pre-order from a major North American food processor expanding its operations in France, which the company said signals NexBot’s potential in the future of material handling and logistics.
"As labor shortages persist and costs rise, businesses must adopt automation to stay competitive in an evolving logistics and warehousing landscape.” said Mike Christman, CEO of Scott Technology. "Traditional mobile equipment creates safety risks and downtime, while manual processes slow supply chains and drive-up costs. NexBot solves these challenges with a modular, scalable design that enables faster deployment, minimizes bottlenecks, and optimizes operating costs - all while running 24/7. As businesses navigate workforce challenges and increasing automation demands, NexBot offers a flexible, future-ready solution to keep operations running smoothly."
Scott Technology highlighted the following benefits of NexBot during ProMat 2025:
"For years, AGVs have played a critical role in materials handling, but complex integration and long production cycles have slowed adoption," said Frederic Hermier, director of materials handling & logistics at Scott Technology during a press conference at ProMat 2025. "NexBot changes that - offering a modular, scalable system that integrates easily, deploys faster and reduces costs. Businesses need automation that not only meets today’s demands but can evolve alongside their operations. By combining advanced safety features, AI-driven navigation and real-time fleet management, NexBot delivers a future-ready solution designed for growth, adaptability, and long-term efficiency."
