DockStar’s Dual Barrier Vehicle Restraint uses two arms to deliver double the mounting and pullout force of single-arm systems, interchangeable for different RIG configurations.

The Dual Barrier Restraint from DockStar offers over twice the mounting and pullout force of single-arm systems - up to 72,000 pounds.

The dual-barrier vehicle restraint design provides up to 18 times the restraining area, minimizing damage to rear impact guards (RIGs). Adjustable, interchangeable barrier hooks accommodate diverse RIGs and bumpers.

A proprietary stabilizing system maintains constant contact during loading and unloading, while the dual track design disperses force, protecting the restraint, building, and trailer, ultimately prioritizing personnel safety.

Dockstar’s reliable and easy-to-use vehicle restraints are engineered with safety features to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries, including:

  • Utilizes and improves upon traditional, proven technologies to protect your people at the loading dock.
  • Over two times the mounting force of traditional restraints.
  • Over two times the pullout force of traditional restraints.
  • Dual barrier system helps to eliminate damage to the RIG created by traditional vehicle restraints.
  • Adjustable barriers can be positioned “on-the-fly” to accommodate a wide range of RIGs.
  • Interchangeable barrier hooks provide coverage for a wide range of RIGs and bumpers and do not require cantilever brackets for bumpers up to 8 inches.
  • Custom barrier designs are available to help secure captive fleets or troublesome snowflake RIGs.
  • A proprietary stabilizing system helps to ensure constant contact with RIG during loading and unloading.
  • Dual-track design increases pull out resistance, while dispersing pull out force across the building foundation wall and across a wide plane on the RIG, helping to protect the restraint, the building and trailer, while ultimately working to help save people’s lives.

Customizable, interchangeable barrier arms

No two loading docks operate the same way, and neither do the trailers that pull into them. That’s why the DockStar Dual Barrier Restraint is engineered with customizable and interchangeable barrier arm lengths, allowing you to tailor each hook to your facility’s exact conditions.

Trailers may back in closer or farther from the dock face depending on factors such as:

  • Dock bumper projection (standard, extended, laminated, or steel-faced)
  • Driveway slope or recessed apron conditions
  • RIG height, setback, or trailer variations across fleets
  • Spotting accuracy or yard-jockey approach angle

Because these variables differ from facility to facility, a fixed-length restraint often fails to provide consistent RIG engagement. DockStar addressed this with a modular hook design - available in multiple lengths - helping to ensure reliable capture whether trailers stop tight to the dock or leave a larger gap.

Once you have a DockStar Dual Barrier System installed, you can easily swap in different-sized hooks at any time. This allows you to:

  • Adjust to new trailer types
  • Adapt to changes in dock bumper depth
  • Standardize engagement across multiple bays
  • Upgrade only the hook - not the entire restraint

With DockStar, your restraint grows with your operation, giving you long-term flexibility without full-system replacements.
