The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) is one of several partners presenting at the 33rd annual Western Pulp, Paper, & Forest Products Safety & Health Conference.
The conference will be held Dec. 2-5 at the Holiday Inn Portland - Columbia Riverfront in Portland, Oregon.
The conference will focus on safety and health issues in Oregon's forest products and pulp & paper industries.
Attendees can earn continuing education credits (CEUs) by submitting the form provided in their on-site packet to their accrediting organization.
Registration is $450 to attend the full conference, $150 for one day Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, and $50 for Friday.

Attendees will have opportunities to connect with each other, discuss new and emerging topics, and refresh their safety and health knowledge.
Topics include chemical safety, effective communication, safety leadership, electrical safety, air monitoring, and control of hazardous energy.
The conference will include exhibits, roundtable discussions, numerous workshops, and company safety meetings for Georgia-Pacific, International Paper, and Smurfit WestRock.

The conference will feature a keynote presentation Tuesday, Dec. 3. Matt Pomerinke, safety specialist for Smurfit WestRock in Longview, Washington, will address how workplace accidents and injuries go well beyond immediate outcomes, with long-lasting effects for everyone, including family, friends, and co-workers.
