J. J. Keller Hot Work VR training

Learn components of hot work permits, temporary fire-safe areas

By Work Safety 24/7 Staff

In this virtual reality (VR) training course from J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc., learners  will prepare for hot work operations safely.

According to OSHA, hot work is defined as any work that involves burning, welding, using fire- or spark-producing tools, or work that produces a source of ignition.

Because of the potential dangers associated with hot work, it is critical everyone involved understands their role in keeping themselves and others around them safe from harm.

This training developed by GWPro is designed to teach the hot work process to prevent injuries and damage to facilities.

After completing this training, learners will be able to:

  • Recognize the components of a completed hot work permit
  • Describe how to arrange a fire-safe area for temporary hot work

The course is multilingual, with experiences available in English, Spanish, and more. Language selection can be done within the VR experience itself.

  1. J. Keller VR content is compatible with Pico's Neo 3 headsets.

This Virtual Reality (VR) module is designed to provide an immersive and interactive learning experience. However, please be aware that some individuals may experience discomfort, including motion sickness, eye strain, or disorientation, while using VR technology. We recommend limiting each VR session to around 30 minutes and taking regular breaks to mitigate these risks. Always ensure your physical safety when using VR, being mindful of your real-world surroundings. This VR module is intended to supplement, not replace, traditional training methods.
